In Doha, the capital of Qatar, emdelight illuminated the world's largest indoor sports complex. The lighting concept created by emdelight called for illumination of the building as a whole as well as in its individual constitutent segments. The color-dynamic architecture spotlighting features five different programmed scenarios that run in cycles within a period of 35 minutes.

The Aspire Dome has proved popular as a venue for sports events. WTA and ATP hold their tennis tournaments here, and internationally top-rank events have been hosted here in the form of table -tennis world cups, in international weight-lifting championships, and many other tournaments. the fascinating and prestigeuos architectual spotlighting is produced by almost 600 spots, each of which can be individually controlled for brightness and color.

Thomas Emde explains his philosophy of artistic architectural illumination as follows: "My objective has always been to employ light to enhance the aesthetics of a project created by architecture."
