Product information
The special illumination of emdelight® glass is generated by the use of innovative LED technology. The light is emitted from one or two opposite edges of the glass over it's suface. The glass has an imprinted dotted pattern with each dot acting as an "intended diversion point" diverting the light from the pane. Due to a special design of the printed pattern depending on pane size and thickness, harmonic light distribution is achieved.
For printing of emdelight® glass, ceramic colours are used which are firmly connected to the glass by stove-enamelling. These colours are abrasion-proof, non-fade as well as very resistant to acids, lyes and temperature. The average printed area of each glass is ca. 10% so the trancperancy of the glass is largely perserved. The material used is glass with low ferric oxide content (white glass) which is especially pure and clear. If RedGreenBlue (RGB) LED are used, emdelight glass may shine in all colours of the RGB spectrum (arithmetically 16.7 million different colours). The illuminated glass elements may be adjusted by a central control panel or individually, making interactive overall light design of the total area possible.
Types of emdelight® glass:
- transparent synthetic material (e.g. acrylic glass)
- single-sheet safety glass
- multi layer glass
- insulated glass
- flat or curved shape
Advantages of LED technology:
- low energy requirement (10-15 watts per sqm for emdelight® glass)
- no electrical danger due to low safety voltage (max. 48 V)
- long-lasting without competition
- nearly no heat emission
- extremely small elements/low element depth
